Valuing your Donation

How much is my donation worth? To people looking to improve their lives through jobs, your donations mean the world. Proceeds from the sale of donated items fund job training and education that helps thousands of community members every year find and keep good jobs.

Your donations also benefit you. Because Goodwill is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, you can receive a tax deduction for donations of goods and cash. The Internal Revenue Service offers guidelines for placing a value on used clothing, furniture, lamps, books and other materials, which you can find here.

Donate your Car

Donate Your Car

Evergreen Goodwill’s Car Donation Program—operated by CARS—accepts any vehicle, from anywhere in America, running or not. We offer you a simple, fast, and secure alternative to trading-in or selling your car, truck, or RV. CARS handles everything, and you receive a tax receipt within 30 days of the sale, which allows you to deduct the final selling price of the car on your tax return.

Donate your vehicle online now or call (866) 398-4483 and be sure to let CARS know you would like your car donation to go to Evergreen Goodwill.

School Donation Drives

Evergreen Goodwill is proud to support education and school activities through King, Kitsap, Skagit, Whatcom, and Snohomish counties. We conduct donation drives to raise funds for groups directly affiliated with schools, such as Parent Teacher Student Associations (PTSA), band/music supporters and athletic program boosters. If your group is raising money for camp, scholarships, equipment or general fund support for activities directly related to a school, we would love to partner with you!

How School Donation Drives Work

  • Evergreen Goodwill will bring an attended box truck to your site for approximately three hours or until the truck is full—whichever comes first. Remaining or additional donations should be dropped off at your closest Evergreen Goodwill donation site, https://evergreengoodwill.org/locations/.
  • You spread the word to your supporters about the event. We can provide you with poster and flyer templates.
  • We donate $300 to your cause for every box truck you fill. Partially filled trucks will not qualify for payment.
  • On the day of the event, your group provides parking spaces for Evergreen Goodwill equipment at your school and volunteer assistance for accepting and sorting donations. We provide one driver and one donation assistant to support your drive. Please ensure you have enough volunteers for your expected donation volume.
  • There is no financial investment, distribution of merchandise, or cash-handling required by you.

If you’d like to coordinate a donation drive with Evergreen Goodwill, please reach out to SchoolEvents@evergreengoodwill.org.
